๐Ÿ“… Appraisals and Revalidation

Summary

๐Ÿ’ก
You need to provide details of your last appraisal, ARCP and revalidation.

What appraisal information applies to me?

๐Ÿ‘‰ I'm not in training

Share details of your last appraisal. You just need to send the date of your last appraisal and the name of the appraiser. You may be asked to share a copy of the appraisal itself, so keep this to hand too.

๐Ÿ‘‰ I'm in a training programme or have recently left training (like an F2/F3)

This will be your ARCP outcome form from the last year of training you completed.

If youโ€™ve just finished your F2 year, as well as your F2 ARCP outcome form you will need your Foundation Programme Certificate of Completion (FPCC). When you receive them, these will either be emailed to you or appear on your ePortfolio. If you donโ€™t receive them, chase it up with the PGME team.

If youโ€™re still in your F2 year and havenโ€™t yet had your F2 ARCP, your last appraisal will be your F1 ARCP outcome form.

Actions Steps

๐Ÿ‘‰ Send appraisal to locum agency

Send over the relevant information as per the above guidance.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Name of Responsible Officer

Your responsible officer will be listed on your ARCP outcome forms at the end of each year. If youโ€™re out of training, this will either be the named person for your Trust or a named person at the agency you work with. You can also check this by logging into your GMC Online account.

You'll most likely be asked to enter this onto the agency's registration form (see next section).

๐Ÿ‘‰ Revalidation date

Revalidation happens every 5 years, so for junior doctors will usually be on the fifth anniversary of when they started as an F1. Your revalidation dateย can be confirmed by logging into your GMC Online account.

This will also be entered into the agency's registration form (see next section).
